Mountain Biking




Chamonix has become a magnet for mountain bikers with trails to suit all levels of ability. The Valley and the surrounding valleys are laced with fantastic, well maintained tracks. The 15-mile long valley has six separate lift systems and boasts a rideable vertical range of over 2000 metres.

The lifts open in June and close at the end of September so you can limit the amount of uphill biking you have to do. There's also the year round 'bike friendly' Mont-Blanc Express train, which links Chamonix with Switzerland at one end and the Vallée de l'Arve at the other. There are two bike rental shops with excellent equipment, so hiring bikes couldn’t be easier. But due to the growing popularity of mountain biking, booking in advance is often wise.

From the extreme downhill version to the more sedate mid-altitude tracks, the freedom offered by the itineraries around our base is almost inexhaustible.

All group prices include: Professional Mountain Bike Guide,  Mountain Bike, Safety Equipment, Transport Pick-Up &/or Drop-Off and all Lift Passes where required.

  • ½ Day group Excursion: 69€ Adults. (Incl: Endurobikes & Protection) & 49€ Children (Under 12yrs)
  • ½ Day group Enduro/Freeride: 99€ Adults (Incl: Endurobikes Logistics and Transport. Not incuding Lift Pass)
  • Full Day group Freeride: 139€ Adults (Incl: Downhill bike, transport & protection. Not including Lift Pass)
  • Full Daytrip Trips: 139€ Adults. Les Gets, Swiss Trient, Megeve/St Gervais (5 pax min, Mountain Bike, transport, pass included)

Private Mountain Bike Instructor-Guides

Private Excursions (max 8 people): 

½ Day: 190€ per guide. (Bike additional).

Full Day: 280€ per guide N.B. Price includes the hire of a professional mountain bike guide, not including bike rental or transport logistics.

Chamonix ValleyPickup / Drop off transport service & assistance: 10€ per person, per transfer. 15€ Drop off & return journey. (30€ minimum)

Chamonix Accommodation Rentals

At Mountain Base, we have one of the largest ranges of Chamonix holiday apartments and Chamonix holiday chalets to rent in the Chamonix Valley, from les Houches, through Chamonix itself, to Argentiere and le Tour. All our rental properties are offered as self-catered accommodation, some flexibly and some by the week. The properties are all independently owned and looked after by Mountain Base and our Chamonix resort partners.
