Rock Climbing

Climbing on the Mont-Blanc massif and the Chamonix Valley means warm rock, high mountains, superb granite and miles of limestone cliffs. Whether you are a biginner or and expert climber, The Chamonix valley has everything from the beginner wall just out of town, to longer, more extreme, 2 or 3 day climbing itineries

If you’re a novice then there are plenty of qualified instructors who offer courses from a few hours to a full week. Most instructors will provide you with all the equipment you will need – all you’ll need is a bottle of water and a strong grip!

If you are experienced, the specified routes within the valley are generally equipped with fixed bolts and therefore a 60m rope for top roping is required. The routes within the valley can provide years worth of climbing for even the most experienced of climbers, however if it’s high mountain routes you are after there’s plenty of literature we can recommend.

Half day groups: 49€pp From 4 to 6 people).
Equipment:The guides will provide all the safety equipment required.
N.B. you can hire climbing shoes from many shops in town, please enquire.

Private Climbing Guides
A stunning experience with your own English speaking guide. Set your own itinerary, adventure and objectives!
Valley floor climbing and Via Ferratacan be up to 6 people. Other itineraries max 2 people per guide.
Half day: 175€ 1-2 people or 199€ 3-6 people.
Full day: 305€ 1-2 people or 335€ 3-6 people.

Via Ferrata

Scale a vertical rock face by using cables and iron ladders. This hugely exhilarating experience is great for all the family and no previous rock climbing experience is necessary. Your high mountain guide will lead the party and ensure that everyone gets the most from the day. Located high above Passy, follow this new ‘Iron walkway’across a majestic cliff-face.

Number of people from 1 to 6 according to guide ratio & itinerary, transfers, equipment and lifts passes not included. 12yrs and over, for sporty people, best not to suffer from vertigo!
